Teesta Bridge, Rangpur, Bangladesh

Construction of 750 m long bridge at 21km away from the Rangpur District town and about 300 metre downstream of Steel Truss Rail Bridge over the Teesta River by GOB and Kuwait fund. Initial Environmental Examination and Environmental Impact Assessment were carried out for the project and accordingly the compliance of the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan was implemented during the construction activities of the project. To protect the endangered species ‘Dolphins’ was considered during construction activities of Teesta Bridge Minimized ecological impacts through implementing the EMP of the Teesta Bridge project during construction works. BCL was the lead of the consultants’ consortium.
