BCL is the pioneer of Bridge Engineering in Bangladesh. For nearly 55 years, BCL has been involved in the design, engineering and construction of bridge structures in Bangladesh and in many other countries. The firm has extensive experience of all forms of construction and type from simply supported PC Girder/Box Girder bridges to continuous multi-span viaducts, continuous box girder bridges, extradosed bridges and composite steel concrete bridges. BCL has been the consultant for Feasibility Study to Design and Construction supervision of all the major bridges in Bangladesh that includes the Bangabandhu Bridge over the Jamuna river, Bhairab bridge over the river Meghna, Lalon Shah bridge over the river Padma/Ganges and the Shah Amanat bridge over Karnaphuli river. BCL is currently performing the task of Management Support Consultancy for the construction of the ever largest road-rail Padma Multipurpose bridge over the Padma river. BCL previously was involved at the prefeasibility and feasibility study of the bridge.
Recent projects have involved linear and non-linear dynamic and spectral response analysis to ensure performance under seismic, ship impact and aerodynamic effects. BCL experience also includes innovative, cost-saving foundation schemes and safeguarding structures from threats such as liquefaction, scour or erosion.
