BCL started its activities in the ports and coast field in 1978 with the design and construction of the berthing facilities in the Chittagong port, the largest and the primary sea port of Bangladesh. Since then, the company has expanded its activities in the development and modernization of important ports and coastal areas, both in Bangladesh and abroad.
The range of services in this field of activity is as complete as required by the complexity of the nature of the river / sea and by the functional, social and economic attributes of port environments as well as by land management issues in coastal environments. It covers port planning studies, maritime climate studies, design of docks and wharfs, and port planning, management and control services.
The services have extended to outside the country in Africa and in the Pacific.
